Inside Steven Alan

Joanna’s Fave Five

  • We love reading Joanna’s blogs.  And we also love that she loves Steven Alan.  Since we’re New York neighbors, we asked her to pay a visit to Steven Alan to choose her favorite five from the shop. Here’s what Joanna wanted to take home with her.

My boyfriend and I are semi-obsessed with the Steven Alan shop near our apartment. On Saturday mornings, after going to the local diner for eggs and milkshakes (seriously), we stop by the shop. We love to daydream and feel inspired by the Steven Alan looks. (Secretly, I can’t wait for the day when we will be shopping for the children’s dresses!)

So, for this fall, here is my Steven Alan Wish List…

I’m a sucker for all things nautical, so I’m loving this sailor-esque grey and navy striped scarf. Bonus: It’s 100% cashmere.

My ears always freeze as I ride my bike around the city, but this cashmere Waverly Bonnet in grey would keep them toasty (and match my new striped scarf!)

When I spotted the navy Eddie coat in Lucky Magazine, I ripped out the page, in hopes that one day, I’d find myself wearing the adorable pea coat with the empire waistline. With its graceful A-line shape, the coat looks like something a ballerina would wear.

This wool Richmond dress with navy pinstripes is elegant enough for work–but the open back (that ties behind the neck) would be the perfect flirty touch for a romantic evening out.

My man has a closet full of Steven Alan shirts–they’ve become his “uniform”–but I’d love to see him wear this red flannel Reverse Seam shirt. The red-checkered print recalls strong, bearded men chopping wood–a manly look I can’t resist.
