Looking for “designers to put a twist on classic sportswear,” Yuki Katsuta, president of UNIQLO Design Studio New York, invited Steven Alan to create a women’s capsule collection as part of the Designers Invitation Project, along with Shipley & Halmos, Gilded Age, and Opening Ceremony.
The line will be available from March 19th in UNIQLO stores internationally, and includes striped tunics, jumpers, gingham blouses, and short dresses. Steven’s personal favorites, previewed here, are the cross-back dress and ¾ sleeve gathered blouse.
More to follow next week!

The reviews on the Japanese uniqlo sites are amazing (customers in the 40s are also stunned by how well made it is and how the cut flatters the body), thanks for introducing the label to the Japanese market, I am sure there is now a wider group of Steven Alan loyalists now (before Uniqlo the shirts were known among people who bought the shirts at certain select shops only).
that blouse is gorgeous! such a pity i don’t live near a Uniqlo.
