Store Highlight: Los Feliz Outpost
Our Los Feliz Outpost, located on Hillhurst Ave. next to Alcove, is a true neighborhood store and has a Western saloon feel. Store Manager Lisa talks to us about the shop:
What do you love about the Los Feliz shop and neighborhood?
Living in Los Angeles we spend a lot of time in our cars. Los Feliz is unique because so many activities and everyday errands are accessible by foot. It offers more of a small town feel in an urban setting, so you really get to know your neighbors. It’s nice to go to the bank or the coffee shop and have someone remember your name. We have a wide range of customers. Some have moved here from New York and are familiar with our stores, but we also get a lot of first timers that venture in after brunch or on a walk.
What are some items that customers love?
For the men our shirting is always popular, and this season our dresses are doing really well. We also offer a nice selection of other vendor merchandise. Filson bags, our raw denim selection, A.P.C., Band of Outsiders, and Garnish earrings are among the favorites at this location .
What are you really excited about having in the store this season?
Since we’re an Outpost store, we typically get our deliveries later than our other shops, once everything is marked down. We are just receiving the last delivery of our spring/summer collection in the store. We’re looking forward to getting short sleeve shirts for the guys and we have a great collection of ties, that I hope make it our way. For the women we are excited to see the Ryder top and Harman dress in the store. They’re available in a great sea shell and swimmer print. Being an Outpost we never know what we are going to get and that makes it fun.
What are some neighborhood spots you like?
For coffee, Bru on Vermont. For breakfast and lunch, Cafe Los Feliz is wonderful! Alcove is right next door, which is really convenient. The Trails in Griffith Park is very peaceful. It’s an outdoor cafe, with picnic tables. For dinner Little Dom’s and Il Capriccio. Skylight Books is great. The Vista movie theatre is a such a fun place to see a movie. Griffith Park Observatory is right up from the store. You can hike up to the top to see the view. They also have really great shows in the planetarium.
