Clay Talk at the Home Shop

  • This week we kicked off the first in a series of events and workshops at our Home Shop at 158 Franklin Street. Clay Talk featured a panel discussion with a talented group of  local ceramicists whose work we admire, including Shino Takeda, Helen Levi, Brooke Winfrey of BTW Ceramics, Clair Catillaz of Clam Lab, and Rachel Howe of Small Spells. Moderated by Steven, the event included a Q&A in which the group discussed their inspiration, what drew them to the medium, and what challenges they face as independent artisans working in New York.

Many thanks to Brooke, Shino, Clair, Helen, and Rachel for sharing their wisdom, to Fox Fodder Farm for the beautiful flowers, and Art in the Age for the delicious rhubarb cocktails. Stay tuned for the next workshop!
