A Joshua Tree wedding should make anyone excited, but with two of us being homesick, East-coast-anchored California natives we immediately decided to turn the event into an adventure-packed long weekend exploring Palm Springs from pool to desert and all the shops, cacti gardens, and eats in between.
When your weekdays are city-centric, weekends spent in parks and gardens are like miniature vacations. The Brooklyn Botanic garden is an oasis. We stopped by to see the cherry blossoms in first bloom before the around-the-block festival lineup on April 29. The trees are in bloom from late March through mid-May. There's still lots to check out after cherry blossom season. We could have spent all day in the Japanese garden.
